Getting really tired of seeing people call this finals boring. No one appreciates good defense and goaltending. If you can't appreciate that then your not a true hockey fan.

Couldn't agree more. I think it's been very entertaining. Four very close games out of five. Good goaltending, very physical.

Any word on Marty, there were rumors that he was limping after the game.

The Kings aren't playing that bad but their not playing well enough! The Devils luck has changed and that's because of their hard work ethic. Monday will be the end for the Devils as Quick will stand on his head and the Kings will win 3-0 with a EN goal..........or not. This is the nightmare all Kings fans have feared. I have been a Kings fan since the 80's and we know disappointment all to well. It's been a great series and Devils fans should be very proud whatever the outcome.

Salvador’s 14 points tie him with the Kings’ Drew Doughty for the most among defensemen in the playoffs. Prior to this season, Salvador had three goals and one assist in 50 career playoff games. His 14 playoff points are also the most in NHL history by a player who had fewer than 10 during the regular season (minimum of 70 games played).

i don't understand why they keep trying to win. the cup belongs to the kings, they are one of the greatest teams of all time, in any sport for that matter. we do get to see one more game of parise with the devils, so i guess that is a plus to being crushed in the scf.

While I'm very happy the Devils won the last two games and made a series out of these finals, I'm still worried about the overall team play. They will have to play MUCH better then they did in game 5 if they want to bring it back for a game 7 here. Also, people have to STOP assuming if the Devils somehow win game 6 that game 7 is an automatic win for them. The Kings already won two games here in OT and outplayed the Devils last night (but lost) so it would not be easy at all. It's time for the Devils to carry the play and take it to LA or we are DOOMED!!!

At this point, a win is a win, doesn't matter how they come. We could have one shot on goal, if that goal goes in, and the other team scores, I don't give a (frank). DeBoer did acknowledge that we had a lot of turnovers and that the first period was not very good, so it's not like he's letting these things fly under the radar.

Yea these finals have been nothing but great. A real hockey fan can appreciate the Finals no matter how high or low scoring. Hockey isnt always high scoring, its not basketball or football. They dont need to make multi point goals. The Finals are always great! As for the "out duel" i'm not sure. Quick made some mistakes but so did Marty. The bounces went for the Devils last night and that is why they won. 3 posts and the GWG off Voynov. Both goalies made some spectacular saves, but I wouldn't say out duel. If one of those posts the Kings hit went in that headline wouldn't exist. Both had great and lucky saves, that's part of the game. As are the bounces. Hockey is a game of inches, which makes it so exciting and suspenseful. I love the sport and watch no matter who is involved. Just wanted to make that clear so I dont get any troll comments or biased Rangers fan comments. I am probably one of the only Rangers fans who can talk about the Devils without putting my hatred for them first.
Game 6 will be one for the ages. Both teams will have the same desperation and both have similiar home/away records. Kings are 4-2 and Devils are 6-2 with 2 extra games played. I really just hope the officials either call it all or let them play, but not mix and match. They have been very good when compared to the rest of the playoffs, but they still are non consistent. But I guess we will always have this problem. The teams need to overcome adversity.
I think both teams have played exceptional hockey thus far, I also think the Kings are feeling the pressure for the first time. I said yesterday the Kings smooth ride thru the West may end up being their achilles heel in the end.
One thing I do want to point out specifically is Bryce Salvador...WOW! Although his offense has had help from lady luck big time, he has been lights out the Devils best player in my opinion. Solid defenesively, and even tho I said lady luck has helped him offensively big time, he makes the right decisions. Dont remember when they grabbed him or for who, but was the best move. Without Salvador I think the Kings are already Champs. Without him they may not have even gotten past the Rangers. Devils fans and analysts should be giving this guy more credit. He has certainly earned and deserved it!!

Good luck to both teams Monday night. If it ends it was a great season and thanks to you Devils fans on behalf of the team for a great Finals!!!

was this necessary? i may be totally off and it may be a joke, but why try to start a back and forth war of words. can't we just talk hockey and the finals without trying to get one side angry to start a fight? it's usually posts like this that turn good hockey debates/convos into just dumb insult battles. again i could be totally wrong and if so i apologize

He's been doing it the whole post-season, he's said it since Florida series. I think it's turning into his superstition now.

i also think the analysts need to give the devils back checkers more credit on some of these saves marty has had. whenever marty goes in the double stack/poke check you have to wonder why these guys arent just flipping the puck over him. thats because of the pressure from the back end. when you have someone allover you with his stick and you hear him coming, you have to worry about him along with the goalie. i think too much credit goes to the goalies and not enough to the guys busting their asses off getting back to help out

haha wow what a steal!!! do you agree though, should def get more recognition!!! i hated him in the ECF, more than any other player on the devils roster. i think he's has earned a new contract, lou better make it happen. he is going to help out any team he goes to, even if not with offense during the regular season he will in every other aspect of the game

also funny thought i had posted on my FB last night. my preseason prediction for the rangers was to advance to the ECF then win it all next year. 1994 the rangers beat the devils in the ecf then won the cup. the following year the devils won the cup in a small lock out season. the devils are trying to make history winning the cup, after they beat the rangers in the ecf. next year we are looking at a small lock out to start the season. just saying...LOL

Honestly, I highly doubt he returns. We have six defensemen on the NHL roster (Tallinder, Volchenkov, Greene, Fayne, Larsson, and Zidlicky) signed for next season, although Fayne is an RFA. Salvador should easily get the same amount as Volchenkov, 4.25 million. You know he's going to use Volchenkov as his bargaining point, and he's better than him. The only way he stays is if Volchenkov, Tallinder, Greene, or Zidlicky, goes via trade, or else it's going to cost too much. The only likely one to go is Volchenkov, anyways.
